Vega’s transmitter gave some signals this morning but not accurate ones – she has been out of contact for a long time and one possibility was that she was incubating eggs on a dark ledge. This would mean the transmitter battery was not being charged, especially during such a miserable rainy grey summer. We need a few days of sun to try to sort out the situation.

Vega continues to live in SW Mondahliaths in a range of 90 square km
Vega continues to range in an area of 64 square km in the SW Monadhliaths
Living in the Newtonmore area. Rather than give ‘no change’ comments each week, we will give new entries when something different happens.
Vega is still living in the same area although she flew 20 kms west up Glen Shirra in the Upper Spey on 27th March.
Vega has remained in the Newtonmore – SW Monadhliaths area within a range of 80 square km.
Vega living in the usual locations
Vega has been roosting Newtonmore to March 8th, living in mountains to the NW and flying north to Coignafearn in the day, with a round flight to Dalwhinnie on 28 February.
